Project Crossroads, based in Marion, Virginia, serves the needs of God’s children through home repair, new home construction, firewood delivery, and emergency assistance. Volunteers from FUMC Hampton support this mission through funding and volunteer work.
Camp Rainbow Connection
Volunteers from FUMC Hampton share a week with intellectually challenged adults. Campers have a buddy for the week and experience summer camp, some for the very first time. Visit the Camp Rainbow Connection website to learn more about the program.
Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodgings and Provisions (HELP)
HELP supports people in transition to rebuild lives changed by circumstances beyond control. FUMC Hampton is a charter organizer of HELP.
During the winter months, we participate in “A Night’s Welcome” by feeding and providing shelter on the coldest nights to folks who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets. In addition, FUMC Hampton volunteers prepare and provide bag lunches one Saturday of each month, to serve to the homeless as part of our HELP mission. Transitions Family Violence services and Menchville House
As part of our mission effort, FUMC Hampton supports Transitions Family Violence Services in Hampton, VA and Menchville House, in Newport News, VA, which provide shelters for battered women and their children in transition.
The Nifty Crafters support the church’s outreach and mission efforts by sewing pillows for breast cancer patients to use after surgery.
Church youth raise funds for World Vision annually by participating in a 30 hour famine. Other various projects are supported for the youth.
