The Evangelism Committee primarily focuses on expanding our outreach into the community by participating in local events, hosting events that are open to the public, and sending out targeted mailings to let our neighbors know what’s happening at FUMC Hampton.  We also participate in the church’s “Pirate Oasis Project”.  During the Hampton Blackbeard Festival, church volunteers hand out free bottled water to festival-goers. During our inaugural “Pirate Oasis Project” in 2014, we handed out almost 600 bottles of water!

Easter Party
Each year on the Saturday before Easter, the education committee sponsors an Easter Party from 10am – Noon in our Church Fellowship Hall. The event is free and open to the public and features games, snacks, egg dyeing, games for children and adults, and egg hunts for all ages!

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

VBS is held for five days during summer months and is free for children from ages 3 – rising 6th graders.

Halloween Party

Every year in October the education committee hosts a Halloween Costume Party. Everyone is welcome to attend this fun event, which features costume contests, a chili cook-off, crafts, games, and a haunted house, all in a safe, family friendly enviroment.

Candy Cane Lane Bazaar

In November, the United Methodist Women host our Candy Cane Lane Bazaar where baked goods, crafts, artwork, a silent auction and lunch with Christmas music are available to the community. All proceeds from the Bazaar benefit United Methodist Women mission projects.
