We welcome our new pastor
Candace (Candee) Lynn Martin
I grew up the daughter of an Army chaplain and lived in Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Kansas, New York, New Jersey, Alaska, Germany, and Arizona. I moved to northern Virginia nearly 40 years ago when my father became Post Chaplain at Fort Myer (the Army post adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery).
My life was deeply formed and shaped by the current events of my childhood…the civil rights movement, Vietnam, the assassinations of President Kennedy, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Bobby Kennedy. My passion for public service began as a young child; I knew in elementary school that I wanted to work in Congress. For me, Congress was a call to public service, just as the military has been for my father and brother.
